Reasons We’re Excited for DAY.MVS XL

While you may be unsure how to pronounce DAY.MVS XL, one thing is for certain: it’s going to be one of this summer’s hottest and most exciting music festivals. Featuring Eric Prydz, Spektre, and a host of other top-billing DJs and electronica artists at a beautiful waterfront venue in San Diego, this event will have it all. On August 6th and 7th, Waterfront Park will be transformed into a bohemian wonderland, where the beach and ocean combine with the energy of the crowd to create an incredible and unforgettable party.

The Basics

Tickets for this event are on sale now on the official website. DAY.MVS XL is presented and produced by FNGRS CRSSD, an organizing and promotional collective known for curating lineups featuring some of the most in-demand and talented artists available. The doors open at noon on August 6th, so be sure to get your ticket ahead of time and get there early for the best positioning in the crowd.

Some of the other acts that you’ll have a chance to see are:

  • ANNA, a Brazilian DJ who writes and produces her own electronica songs.
  • The enigmatic German DJ Claptone, never seen without his plague doctor mask.
  • German house music star Purple Disco Machine.
  • Several Ukrainian artists like Stef Mendesidis, Miss Monique, and Nastia.
  • A UK rave revivalist duo called Overmono.
  • Avant-garde techno from Spektre.

This is one of the most scenic and central locations for this event, within close reach of many nearby cities. Waterfront Park is difficult to miss, but if you are using GPS the address is 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego. This is a 21+ event and once you get onto the grounds there will be food and drinks available, along with all of the other excellent choices nearby in San Diego.

Along with the pop-up food vendors and local choices, you can choose from craft beers, cocktails, or even more. And of course, you won’t want to forget the merch that will always remind you of the festival.

The Experience

FNGRS CRSSD has a lot of experience running events at this venue, as they host a separate CRSSD festival in the same location. This means that they’ll be familiar with the site, and the promoters and organizers can focus on what matters the most: the music. Electronic music artists like Eric Prydz and Spektre require venues with massive sound systems, and the setup at Waterfront Park doesn’t disappoint.

There’s something almost surreal about the conjunction of three different worlds: the beach, the city, and the music festival. People come from all over the world to experience moments like these, which is why the music festival is such an enduring and potent means of organizing and communicating with people. There’s nothing quite like the energy that comes off of a crowd at these festivals, and you’ll find that your encounters there will refresh and rejuvenate the soul.

The music that will be featured at DAY.MVS XL can best be summarized as techno, house, and live electronica music. This type of music translates extraordinarily well to live sets, with some of the largest and most profitable acts in the music business today being live DJs. The synergy of technology and pure unbridled artistic creation afforded by the personal computer created the means for talented artists like these to take the next step in mankind’s musical evolution.

Stay Excited

It’s easy to see that there are a lot of good reasons to be excited about DAY.MVS XL, from the killer lineup, to the beautiful backdrop, to the excellent food and drinks. It’s always a good time for a trip to sunny San Diego, or maybe you live in the city. If you’re traveling, there is no shortage of hotels nearby and within walking distance of the event.

This festival debuted last year in 2021. It’s obviously been a tough time for live events like music festivals due to the state’s Covid restrictions, so it will be interesting to see how the second iteration of the festival goes. All signs are pointing to massive success and one of the best parties the city has seen.

There’s plenty to do at Waterfront Park, from stores to beach access to spray fountains for kids to play in. Beautiful spacious lawns intermix with the beautiful native plants that thrive in California’s Mediterranean climate, with the music festival juxtaposed against this as a beacon of light, life, and noise.

Revelers and attendees can soak up the sun while staying cool in the fresh Pacific breeze, the beach just steps away from the event stage. Truly an incredible combination of sights, smells, and sounds, DAY.MVS XL will be an unforgettable experience for those lucky enough to attend. Get your tickets now, and make your August 6th and 7th the most exciting days of your summer.
