Nurture Live Tour with Porter Robinson 2021 Recap

Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Festival Los Angeles

Nurture Live Tour with Porter Robinson Recap

Porter Robinson released his second album, Nurture, on April 23, 2021. The following day he performed his album live at Secret Sky – a digital version of his Second Sky Festival.

Shortly after that Porter announced the Nurture Live Tour. He will be going on tour from September to November across the United States.

The Line-Up

Porter Robinson is the headliner at Nurture Live Tour with support from Jai Wolf and other artists depending on the location.

When he thinks about who he wants to invite as his co-headliners, he wanted to invite other artists that are his friends, that he enjoys being around and appreciates their music. That is why he selected Jai Wolf, Toro Y Moi DJ, Wavedash, and James Ivy for the Los Angeles stop.

Porter Robinson put on a live show for over 90 minutes. He played multiple instruments live on stage while singing all of his songs. He performed songs from his Nurture album, but also classics from his earlier years.

It was both a unique and memorable experience seeing such a talented performer live.

The Venue

We were lucky to attend the Los Angeles stop, which was held at Los Angeles State Historic Park.

This is a great venue with views of the downtown skyline. This is located directly adjacent to Chinatown.

The Stage

There was one stage so you can focus all your attention on the artist performing at that time.  This also meant no conflicts with time slots.

The stage had two large displays that would often show the artist performing or the video graphics that tie in with the music being played. The lasers, strobe lights, and fireworks also help enhance the visual experience of the show as well.

The sound system was crisp and clean. The music sounded amazing from wherever you were in the venue.

The Covid Precautions & Security

When you first arrived there was a line was to check for your vaccination card, as you are required to be fully vaccinated or have a negative Covid test 72 hours prior to this event.

After this checkpoint, you head to the security line where due to Covid protocol, security was not required to pat you down, but instead asked you to remove everything in your pockets and walk thru the metal detector. After that, you’re all cleared to go into the event.

Food, Drink & Merch

The venue had food and drink locations placed all around the venue to make for easy access for everyone. There were a variety of food options to chose from so no matter what you were in the mood for there was something for everyone.

The drink locations were next to the food and you would be able to find domestic beers, well liquor as well as some top-shelf vodkas and whiskeys.

The merchandise shops had a few locations spread throughout the venue. There was a lot to select from such as hats, beanies, shirts,  sweaters, posters, and more.
