How Cali Vibes 2025 Brought the Heat to Long Beach

Ever wonder what happens when Long Beach’s ocean breeze meets reggae, hip‑hop, and sun‑soaked beats over a weekend? That’s exactly what Cali Vibes wanted to deliver on June 7 and 8, 2025, an escape from screen‑swipe fatigue into blissed‑out live music under the sunshine. But could this seaside escape spark a genuine connection, or would it feel like just another crowded event?

By leaning into vibrant headliners, intimate guest moments, and a lovingly revived Boomyard stage, Cali Vibes solved that problem. It became less about headlining acts and more about unforgettable moments shared on the green, from old friends reunited to newcomers discovering the joy of live performances for the first time.

Marina Green Park, Long Beach

Marina Green Park sprawls along Shoreline Drive in Long Beach, California. The backdrop was a sweeping sweep of the Pacific offered more than just a view. Two sprawling stages were set into grassy green hills flanked by palm trees.

Festival‑goers entering through lush entrances were greeted not just by wristbands but by a friendly vibe: volunteers handing out water spritzers; food stalls offering vegan tacos, poke bowls, and fresh‑pressed juices. Kids darted between art installations while couples lounged on blankets. The layout united convenience with openness, making every set feel like a front‑row experience with space to breathe and savor the coast.

Beach Club and VIP passes got you shaded lounges, charging stations, and even private restrooms, and honestly, halfway through the second day, everyone was eyeing that upgrade.

Headliners

Stick Figure brought a wave of warmth and calm that rolled over the crowd like the tide. With tracks likely pulled from Wisdom and older favorites, fans felt every beat of songs like “We Get High” and “Sound of the Sea.” The dub-heavy rhythms had people swaying with closed eyes, arms up, and heads lifted to the sky.

Kid Cudi turned that energy inward, pulling everyone into his world of introspection and self-empowerment. You could feel the crowd shift into something more reflective, especially when tracks like “Pursuit of Happiness” and “Mr. Rager” kicked in. Fans sang every word, some with hands over hearts, others jumping in bursts of emotional release.

Dirty Heads brought the spark. The minute that first riff of “Vacation” kicked in, the field lit up like a beach bonfire. Everyone was dancing. Strangers became friends. You could almost hear the beer cans cracking open in unison. “Lay Me Down” hit like a wave of nostalgia, and when “My Sweet Summer” dropped, it was clear they were throwing a party, and everybody was invited.

Rebelution followed with a polished sound that was never too clean or smooth, but still real. Songs like “Safe and Sound” and “Feeling Alright” made people feel grounded. The vocals were crisp, the message was all about love and collective strength, and the brass section added just the right amount of uplift.

Slightly Stoopid and Friends‘ set moved in and out of reggae, funk, punk, and pure improvisation. No one really knew what was coming next, and that was the beauty of it. One moment, it was a breezy set, and you could feel and sense that they were just as excited to play as the fans were to hear it.

Notable Acts

Ludacris came in hot and reminded everyone what a real stage presence looks like. As soon as he hit the mic, the crowd snapped into full gear. “Act a fool” had everyone jumping like the ground was on fire, and when “Southern Hospitality” dropped, it was pure swagger from front to back.

Iration’s blend of reggae and pop made for the perfect coastal soundtrack. Tracks like “Time Bomb” and “Falling” gave the audience a reason to just lay back and smile. Blankets came out, drinks were raised, and it felt like a personal backyard concert with thousands of your chillest friends.

Santigold shook things up in the best way. Her set felt bold, electric, and every song brought a new energy, with pulsing beats and experimental rhythms that made people dance to tracks like “Disparate Youth” and “Creator”.

YG Marley turned heads with a presence that felt fresh and rooted in legacy. His mix of thoughtful hip-hop and reggae touches created something deeply personal yet completely universal. Every verse landed with intention, and you could feel the weight of his lineage. There were glimpses of Lauryn Hill’s depth and Bob Marley’s fire, but YG owned his space, and people listened.

Pepper brought the surf-rock vibes hard. Their gritty sound mixed with reggae made tracks like “Give It Up” bounce with energy. Fans were belting the lyrics right back at them, feet moving nonstop. It was loud, loose, and beachy in the best way possible.

J Boog dialed things into a different emotional register. His voice was smooth, his energy pure, and his set carried a warmth that lingered long after. “Let’s Do It Again” brought big smiles and couples slow dancing in the sand.

Steel Pulse was powerful. Legends of Roots reggae’s message was loud, clear, and still relevant. The crowd leaned into it, soaking up tracks that touched on justice, unity, and social awareness.

The Elovaters, Fortunate Youth, Prof, and Hirie each brought their own spark to the mix.

The Elovaters gave fans a gritty rock-reggae blend that felt raw and honest. Fortunate Youth lit up their set with lyrics and positive vibes that had the crowd dancing barefoot in the grass.

Prof turned his stage into a rap variety show with equal parts hype, humor, and heat. His flow was fast and punchy, keeping the energy wild.

Hirie, meanwhile, was a breath of fresh air. She brought soul, sass, and serious pipes. Her set carried messages of strength, love, and joy, with fans shouting back every chorus.

Collie Buddz was pure dancehall gold. “Love & Reggae” hit like a wave, and suddenly, the field turned into a full-blown Caribbean party. His laid-back charm and smooth delivery had people two-stepping, wine-ing, and singing like it was the last song of summer.

The depth of talent didn’t stop there.

DENM, Little Stranger, Landon McNamara, Cisco Adler, Shwayze, Anuhea, Aurorawave, Artikal Sound System, BLVK H3RO, Tunnel Vision, Chad Tepper, and Emily Brimlow all brought their own flavor to the weekend.

Special Highlights

One of the best parts of Cali Vibes this year wasn’t even on the main stage. The Boomyard made its much-loved return, which was everything fans hoped for. Tucked under palm trees with hammocks, shady corners, and a laid-back beach-bar feel, it became the festival’s heartbeat. There were surprise DJ sets, acoustic jam sessions, and random artist pop-ins that felt totally unplanned but somehow perfect. It gave everyone a place to recharge without feeling missing out. Because sometimes, the best sets were happening on a crate with a guitar and a mic.

And then there was Cypress Hill. Their performance of Black Sunday in full was the moment people will be talking about for years. When “Insane in the Brain” dropped, it was like a wave of nostalgia and raw energy hit the entire crowd simultaneously. Everyone, from old-school fans to first-timers was shouting every word.

Another standout came with Rome’s first-ever solo performance in Southern California. Known and loved for his work with Sublime with Rome, this set felt personal. There was vulnerability in his delivery, gratitude in every lyric, and a special moment when he paused to shout out Long Beach’s deep musical roots. Fans who grew up on that classic West Coast reggae-rock sound were especially tuned in, and by the end, it felt like Rome had added a whole new chapter to his story, right on home turf.

Keep your ears tuned!

This Long Beach weekend stitched genres from sunrise to encore, each act built on the coastal backdrop, uniting crowds in rhythms that resonated across generations.

Revival of Boomyard, Cypress Hill’s Black Sunday, and Rome’s homecoming created emotional high points no recap could fully contain. For those who missed it, trust that the next edition will call back with bigger beats, deeper vibes, and one more chance to be part of something alive. Keep your ears peeled.
