Goldrush 2023 Sonoran Skies Recap
Goldrush 2023 Sonoran Skies Recap
Relentless Beats presents GoldRush: Sonoran Skies, one of the biggest bass music festivals and most popular in Phoenix Arizona that will bring you people from all around Arizona and the world! The name of the festival Sonoran skies definitely described the whole weekend as it was held at the phoenix raceway in the middle of the desert under the beautiful phoenix skies!
The two day event starting Saturday October 7th and ending the morning of Monday October 9th, this is a perfect time of year for this festival because it’s not too hot and keeps festival goers safe and not overheat in the hot weather!
Lineup
This year the lineup consisted of headlining artists such as Alison wonderland, Louis The Child, Tiesto, Zeds Dead, ZHU, plus many more amazing talents. All of these artists could be found at the main stage Paradise prairie, other artists of day 1 and day 2 leading up to these headlining acts you would be able to see Kayzo, Dabin, Ship Wrek, Madeon, S!CK!CK, Hamdi, and plenty of local artists!
Kicking off day 1 and day 2 at each stage local artists had the opportunity to open up the festival for people that showed up right when the doors opened to get the party started! Most of these local artists also competed in a competition to get the locked in spot to play at the main stages!
The Venue
For this being only the Second GoldRush being held at the Phoenix raceway, it hasn’t been the first show/festival that has been successful in production and layout! Being held on the outside of the raceway , it still had the same feel and even better production as the few before that were held at Rawhide in chandler years prior!
This being a big venue they had plenty of parking options such as ADA parking , GA plus parking, staff parking, and the best if you didn’t get a chance to purchase plenty of FREE parking for anyone. Getting from your parking spot to the gates was very easy and convenient with their being markers leading you to where you needed to be. Security and I.D. checks went very smooth considering that this event was all digital tickets unless you purchased V.I.P or platinum which required a wristband for verification to get into certain spots throughout the venue!
Main Stage (Paradise Prairie)
The main stage this year at Goldrush was very different from last years setup, this year it gave a more raceway type of a vibe with a structure built up very high with led’s and beams all around. This stage had plenty of room and space to travel your way through the crowd to dance and mingle with new friends. Also this stage was used the night prior for one of the biggest headlining Rap shows $uicideboy$.
The Barn (Coyote Cove)
Leaving main stage walking to the middle of the venue you run into The Barn which was the stage name Coyote Cove. This inside stage was dedicated to the house stage! This being inside and secluded from the outside stages you get the experience of a wear house vibe and also a western vibe which goldrush is known for! Inside you could find a food court and plenty of places to sit in the air conditioned building. Artists such as Will Clarke , Dombresky, Sonny Fodera and Clonee could be found here! Closing out day 1 here you could Catch Walker & Royce for the after party.
Silent Disco
The one stage you could never go wrong with, The Silent Disco! This being the smallest and most intimate stage, it brings out more love for the music for it being so close to you. This years silent disco included all local and up and coming local artists to the stage! With having three different channels on your headphones, you could listen to varieties of music every hour on the hour. Music including house, trap, dubstep trance, and everything in between. Inside the silent disco they also had vendors such as local dispensaries giving out free coupons to their shops all around the valley and looks of what they have to offer, and other small local shops to check out.
Moonrise Mountain
Walking from the coyote cove stage you come across the stage called moonrise mountain which was mainly the Bass stage, artists at this stage you could find headlining artists such as Dion Timmer, Slushii, ATLiens, Jessica Audiffred, Riot Ten, and to close out this stage for the weekend Kai Wachi! This stage was a main hit for most of the bass heads in AZ!
Food, Drink & Merch
Main food for this year at Goldrush included food such as Wetzel pretzels, which had plenty of varieties of all their pretzels and lemonades! Next they had a taco shop which was located throughout the whole festival. The main vendors were the raceway vendors that included the typical staple chicken tenders and fries, pizza, nachos and of course bottled water and different varieties of beers and cocktails!
Walking throughout the festival you could find many of these small hidden food carts and drink carts, which would never leave you parched or hungry at anytime throughout the weekend!
Another staple to the festival experience is the merch! As traveling between stages you could find plenty of merch tents that included Jerseys, shirts , pins, glasses and many more small festival needs! Many drink vendors were a big part as well such as Simply lemonade spiked, which is a new addition to the crowd, topo chico, coors light and the main sponsor BEATBOX and VOODOO-RANGER! Other vendors besides drinks were Doritos promoting new flavors of their chips, Jeeter , Rave Camp, and the most exciting RollerRave; a way to skate, have fun and meet new people!
The Experience
As this being the 5th annual GoldRush festival, its one for the books! Cant forget about the V.I.P experience. The V.I.P and Platinum tickets are nothing to forget about. These tickets include all inclusive AC bathrooms, front row access, drink and food packages, access to artist lounge, photo opportunities and of course for the females a whole glam section to get ready for the festival weekend! Goldrush will always be in our hearts as one of the best festivals Arizona puts on and will cherish forever! Cant wait to see whats in store for Decadence AZ 2023-24 and GoldRush 2024!
