Electric Forest 2025: Four Days of Magic, Music & Mind-Blowing Moments in the Trees

Every once in a while, a music festival transcends expectations and becomes something more than just a weekend of sound. Electric Forest 2025 was exactly that. Held from June 19 to June 22 in Rothbury, Michigan, the four-day celebration of electronic beats, psychedelic jams, wellness, and art returned bigger and better than ever.

This year’s lineup featured international headliners, stunning stage production, and a community spirit that made the forest feel like home.

The Venue: Rothbury’s Magical Playground

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Double JJ Ranch, the venue transformed into an illuminated wonderland. Towering trees wrapped in vibrant lights, interactive installations, and forest pathways guided attendees from one stage to another. The lush surroundings created an immersive atmosphere where art met nature, and every corner held a surprise.

Thursday: A Bass-Heavy Blastoff

Electric Forest kicked off with a surge of energy on Thursday. French electronic legends Justice lit up the main stage with their signature gritty synths and pulsing light show. The duo’s return to the forest after years away was met with roaring excitement. Liquid Stranger brought his experimental bass sounds to an enraptured crowd, with vibrations that could be felt in the chest.

Sara Landry’s dark, high-tempo techno set turned The Observatory stage into a late-night haven. Vintage Culture kept the vibes flowing with upbeat house rhythms while fans bounced between stages, catching standouts like Dombresky presents Disco Dom, Joey Valence and Brae, and Will Clarke.

Friday: Tiësto, Louis the Child, and a Worship Experience

Day two brought blue skies, even bigger crowds, and a power-packed lineup. Tiësto proved once again why he remains a festival staple, blending classics with modern bangers to create an unforgettable dance session. Louis the Child delivered good vibes and colorful visuals, igniting a joy-filled sing-along with hits like “Better Not” and “Fire.”

The Worship stage turned into a temple of rhythm, featuring Sub Focus, Dimension, Culture Shock, and 1991 in a drum and bass takeover that thrilled fans from start to finish. Cloonee’s house, which was set on the carousel stage, had fans moving non-stop.

Nia Archives brought jungle and bassline culture into the woods, while The Hangar offered deeper sounds with acts like Blond:ish and Crankdat. Friday ended with smiles, sore feet, and memories made under laser-lit trees.

Saturday: Zeds Dead, Disclosure, and Cosmic Energy

By Saturday, the forest felt like home. Festivalgoers had found their rhythm, and the day was stacked with heavy hitters. Zeds Dead’s “Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness” headlined with a mind-bending visual show and a blend of dubstep, house, and hip-hop edits. Disclosure took fans on a groove-based journey with a special DJ set filled with throwbacks, UK garage, and smooth transitions.

Barry Can’t Swim brought a genre-defying performance that flowed from lo-fi to energetic breakbeats. Mike Posner made a surprise appearance, walking barefoot and reminding the crowd of his Michigan roots. Sets from Caribou, Interplanetary Criminal, and Jade Cicada kept the vibes rolling from day to night. Meanwhile, Dream Emporium and Sherwood Court glowed brighter than ever, with interactive art drawing in curious wanderers.

Sunday: A Soulful Send-Off

Sunday brought a mix of soulful grooves and deep beats to close the weekend. FISHER delivered a dancefloor frenzy with hits like “Losing It,” proving to be one of the most energetic sets of the weekend. Khruangbin’s dreamy instrumental jams provided a soothing contrast, allowing crowds to sway and reflect in the late afternoon sun.

Of the Trees delivered a masterclass in sound design, blending lush melodies with deep bass. Mochakk’s closing set became a forest-wide celebration of movement and connection. The String Cheese Incident returned for two beloved jam sessions, blending funk, bluegrass, and psychedelic rock in a way only they can. Their set became a tradition fulfilled and a communal farewell to another unforgettable forest year.

Beyond the Music: Food, Art, and Community

This year’s Electric Forest went above and beyond in crafting experiences beyond the stages. The Forest Feast dinners brought gourmet meals into the woods, with Top Chef’s Sarah Welch designing a menu that fused fine dining with festival spirit. Drag brunches, mocktail tastings, and workshops created vibrant spaces for connection.

Sherwood Forest’s art installations were as captivating as ever. Giant glowing mushrooms, hidden stages, and message walls created a sense of wonder and discovery. Pottery classes, yoga sessions, and storytelling circles provided chances to slow down and soak it all in.

A Festival Like No Other

Electric Forest 2025 reminded everyone why it stands apart. It is not just the lineup or the lights or the incredible production. It is the people, the creativity, and the shared joy that make the forest feel like a second home. With four days of magical performances, unforgettable moments, and powerful community energy, this year’s edition set a new bar.
