Artists to Catch at Das Energi 2019

Das Energi returns in mid-August to the monumental grounds of the Saltair, located along the shores of the Great Salt Lake. The festival was founded in 2012 and its recent lineups have included Deadmau5, Snails, NGHTMRE and many more. The 2019 edition of the festival will continue to attract a colossal lineup of electronic, dance and drum & bass to play across its three stages. The venue transformed into a new world to create an extraordinary experience for 2019 festival goers, including a brand-new main stage design.
Artists such as Above & Beyond, Deorro, RL Grime, Zeds Dead, and more will be heading to the Great Saltair this year to play Das Energi 2019. Shralpin would like to introduce you to some of the headliners that you should catch at the festival. Crank up the tunes and enjoy!
Above & Beyond
Get ready to dance and sing along to this trance trios’ music that is guaranteed to put you in your feels. Above & Beyond is an Electronic music trio consisting of members Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki who hail from London. The trio owns London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep as well as host a weekly radio show entitled Group Therapy Radio. They have been consistently ranked among DJ Magazine‘s Top 100 DJs Poll, placing #6 in 2007, #4 in 2008 & 2009, #5 in 2010 & 2011, and at #51 for 2018. Above & Beyond will be tugging at your heart strings Saturday night as they deliver a special set to the Das Energi crowd.
i_o
Garrett Lockhart, aka i_o, is a USA-based electronic music producer. Garrett’s very first release under this moniker got him featured on mau5trap’s seventh installment of the “We Are Friends” compilation and a premiere on renowned electronic music platform Dancing Astronaut, being labeled as “a name to watch going forward”.
Spinnin’ Records also believed in i_o talent when they signed his collaboration with world-famous electro house DJ and producer Tommy Trash, Oxygen, together with Daisy Guttridge.
Before presenting himself as i_o, Lockhart also went by Fawks, having featured releases on popular labels like Dim Mak, DOORN Records and even a remix of Skrillex and The Game’s El Chapo on NEST HQ.
Zeds Dead
Canadian electronic duo Zeds Dead from Toronto, Canada is comprised of members Dylan Mamid (aka DC) and Zachary Rapp-Rovan (aka Hooks). The group started producing hip-hop music under the name Mass Productions in 2004 and transitioned to Zeds Dead in 2009. Their music style is versatile with roots in deep house, dubstep, drum and bass, drum step, electro-house, and trap.
In 2016, they launched their own record label entitled Deadbeats and have a radio show called Deadbeats Radio that showcases tracks from up and coming EDM artists. Their sets will blow your mind with mind-altering lasers, trippy visuals, and surges of face-melting bass. A few of their well-known singles are Rude Boy, Collapse, and In the Beginning. You will not want to miss this dynamic Canadian duo perform on Saturday. Zeds Dead’s record label, Deadbeats, will also be hosting a stage at Das Energi. Keep an eye out for the eccentric artists that will be gracing the Deadbeats stage.
Chris Lake
Grammy-nominated British DJ and producer Chris Lake has taken the global House scene by storm. His claim to fame stems from his unique ability to combine electro, house, and techno elements into his music. The release of his smash hit “Changes” launched him into national charts and turned into a worldwide hit. Lake received his first Grammy nomination when he collaborated with Deadmau5 on the album “4×4=12.”
Over the past several years, he has toured all four corners of the world and played at some of the biggest clubs on the planet including Space, Ministry of Sound, and Amnesia to name a few. He has also played for a plethora of fans at some of the biggest festivals across the globe including Creamfields and Tomorrowland.
The only way is up for Chris as far as his music career goes. You can expect to see him dominate the House scene for years to come. Listen to his iconic track entitled “Operator” in preparation for the festival and don’t forget to dance your heart out to his set at Das Energi.
Troyboi
British producer Troy Henry, aka TroyBoi, is a multicultural electronic music artist who has produced and remixed tracks for rap, R&B, and pop artists in addition to releasing work under his own name. He is a native of South East London, England who arrived during the early 2010s and is most frequently associated with trap music, though his output has also veered from electro-house to commercial dance-pop.
Among his most prominent productions are Little Mix’s “Lightning” and Serayah’s “Get No Better (2.0),” while he has remixed tracks by Danny Brown (“Smokin & Drinkin”), Missy Elliott (“WTF [Where They From]”), and ZAYN (“Like I Would”). In 2017, Henry issued his debut full-length, Left Is Right, a bass-heavy collection that included collaborations with Healthy Chill, Nefera, Y.A.S, and Ice Cube. The next year, he issued the EP V!BEZ, featuring David Stewart on the track “Spooky.” The follow-up, V!BEZ, Vol. 2, landed later that year.
Prepare yourself for this Diplo-approved trap-oriented producer’s set. You will not want to miss out on his sick beats as he takes over Das Energi.
