SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Lucidity Festival released a new video to celebrate the beginning of its ninth cycle, under the banner of “Regeneration Earth.” Unlimited Graphic Design Services helped in the process. The video features an elemental character, Leaf, who awakens to discover a world suffering from the complexities of climate change. He must learn how to build community and commune with the natural world in order to address and impact the climate crisis. Watch and share the video – Leaf’s Awakening – here.

Lucidity Festival has operated at the forefront of conscious, ecological, and family-friendly festival production since its founding in 2012. In 2018, the Santa Barbara-area music and arts festival was recognized as the world’s best family festival at the 2018 FestX Awards. The festival producers program dozens of panels, hands-on workshops, and demonstrations around eco-building, land management, community organizing, healing modalities, and more.

Each year, the event is supported by a different theme, entrenched in a larger story arc divided by trilogies. Underneath the surface, a complex web of archetypal storytelling and essential philosophies  guides the festival’s trajectory. This year will conclude the third trilogy around the theme of Global Transformation. Next year, its tenth, will kick off a three-year story of Universal Consciousness.

“We wrote this chapter title three years ago, yet it seems to be perfectly on time,” says Jonah Haas, Lucidity Festival’s director of marketing. “This is not a story we are writing, but rather the story is writing itself through us.”

Haas points to the connection between the different themes and current events of the last three years and their prophetic outcomes. The theme in 2018, Rising Dawn, featured the element of fire. Tragically, it coincided with the Thomas Fire, the largest fire in California history at the time. Participants that year considered the devastation and rebirth inherent in fire. Moon’s Eye View, the 2019 theme, told the story of the element of water, and corresponded with the region’s most rainfall in over a decade, filling local reservoirs and ending California’s historic drought.

“There is a strong undercurrent of movements happening on a global scale. We are reimagining what it means to drastically rebalance humanity’s relationship with all else,” said Lucidity Festival co-founder and food activist Alison Hensley. “From ecosystem restoration camps to regenerative agriculture, from carbon farming to climate strikes, humanity has become keenly aware that we have to make choices. The youth are hungry for connection and action. We are all hungry to learn what it means to live in harmony and within the means of a finite system.”

The festival, and partner organization Lucid University, will also be offering a one-day Regenerative Action Day on the Wednesday before the festival. This will be a day for the community to come together around a meaningful collective action project that will help regenerate a local ecosystem. Organizers will make additional information available closer to the event.
